What the future holds: new hope on the horizon for FIP
1 hour of CE Credit
Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a progressive and almost always fatal disease without treatment. There are currently no FDA approved medications for the treatment of FIP, however new research looking into the use of antivirals holds some hope for the future. This course will provide a brief background on FIP including the history of coronaviruses and the epidemiology, diagnosis of and current treatment options for FIP. We will then explore ongoing research into promising new treatment modalities, including immunostimulants and antivirals.
What you'll learn:
The history of coronaviruses
Review of FIP disease state including epidemiology, clinical signs and diagnosis
FIP treatment options available today
Review of the ongoing research into potential FIP treatment modalities
